Do not make the mistake of treating alternate medicine like a cult science. Do not expect immediate results that traditional or scientific medicine cannot provide. In fact, alternate medicine always works slower than traditional solutions. It is effective because it adopts a completely different approach towards the analysis of the problem in the human body.

Acupuncture and acupressure focuses on the energy points in the body and identify which energy point has been affected by the illness. The alternative treatment focuses on clearing the jam inside the body and facilitates the flow of energy in the proper manner again.

It is impossible for a scientific medicine to measure the so called flow of energy accurately. In such a scenario, one has to rely on the efficacy of the results to check whether the treatment is effective or not. Natural therapy focuses on getting rid of artificial substances from the body. The individual is advised to go back to a natural life involving a lot of physical activity, natural diet and absence of technology.

Some solutions suggest consumption of fruits on an increased rate for a specific period of time. Unlike antibiotics which identify the microbial organisms responsible for the disease, these solutions look at the entire body as a whole. Some may work for you while others may not. Some ailments may be curable while other ailments may simply be controlled.

In such a scenario, it is advisable to go in with specific expectations. Trying to pretend that all your problems will be solved by opting for alternative treatment is just not going to work.

Medicine For Masturbation

The word ‘masturbation’ itself has become a taboo of some sorts due to religious and social confines. It is viewed as very bad act is some of the religions and society.  So what is real about masturbation? Is it bad? Let us know something about it. First of all one should understand that masturbation is not a bad thing. It is just a part of normal and healthy part of sexual life of both boys and girls and both of the sexes does it. You will hear those crazy stories from one of your friend or mates that will scare you but they aren’t true. Rumors are that your eyes get strained and affect your vision, your mental health is affected and you will get weak etc. These things are just insane and don’t have a drop of truth.

Another thing is that it is strictly a private affair and mustn’t be done in public. Some boys even do that in groups. It reduces stress and also relaxes you since it releases pleasure hormones. It eases sexual pressure and brings sexual satisfaction without the dangers of pregnancy or unsafe sex. This also prepares you for future sexual intercourses both physically and psychologically. The guilt and stress associated with it may cause psychological problems and mental anomalies. We must understand that masturbation is an integral part of sexual life of youths. Nothing is bad or taboo about it and the only thing we ever need to worry about it is the privacy. Since it is a private affair we mustn’t do it publicly.

How To Achieve A Healthy Life?

Healthy life is the most crucial aspect of your life. However not many are aware about how to achieve it. A healthy life is very difficult to achieve under the circumstances because most of us are used to the unhealthy lifestyle. We only have ourselves to blame for the kind of health we are maintaining today.

The stressful lifestyle is known as the major concern for the health hazards in the 21st century. Many of the people are over weight, not able to spend much time for their own health and as a result we see a majority of the population is suffering from the various health related issues. Just follow the tips in this article to ensure a proper healthy life.

The first and foremost thing that you need to remember is that physical activities can help you achieve a good health. You need to indulge in various physical activities in order to achieve a healthy life. Needless to say you need to have enough time for these activities. A good 1-2 miles walk or jogging early in the morning can prove wonders to your health. You can get out of the stiffness, laziness and keep yourself away from obesity by following these tips.

The other tips could be to avoid over eating. A majority of us over eat a bit and this could lead to obesity. Always limit yourself to good eating habits and never over eat. Eat only when you are hungry. You also need to avoid lot of junk food although it is ok once in a month or so. This way you can keep a watch on your weight and can achieve good health. A healthy life can be easily achieved by following these tips strictly. Can you follow them? You can.

The Constructive use of Chi

When you harness your chi and use it for something, the only moral compass is obviously going to be your own. If you choose to use your chi in a fight against a person or creature, then only you can decide if it is right for you to cause them serious bodily harm or even kill them. Just keep in mind that whether or not you believe that what you do is right, the law might not be keen to agree with your personal assessment of the situation. What you do is ultimately going to come back to you in some form or another. So knowing this, it behooves you to be extra responsible when you channel your qui. Ideally, it should only be used for your health and to help other people.

Unfortunately, some people do not think in those kinds of terms. They can understand the way to channel their qui, but they are still stuck in the competitive plane of thinking about the world. To a person who thinks that way, anything that they want has got to come from someone else, and anything else that someone else possesses must have been taken from another. For these types of people, using their qui to “take back” what is theirs (at least in their opinion) might seem perfectly acceptable to them. This is a perverse use of life energy.

If the use of qui does more harm to the world than good, it is destructive in nature. To try and assign the labels of “good” and “bad” would be inappropriate and crude, but destruction has a nasty tendency to come back to those who dish it out. However, with the constructive use of your qui, you have the potential to have healing and abundance come back to you at a level you may never have even thought was possible. Wouldn’t you rather have healing and wealth coming to you than pain and harm?

The Element of Earth

Earth is the element which comes out of the fire and slowly transforms into metal. Hailing from the center, it is represented by the color yellow and works to transform a life form into what it will ultimately become. In every life, there is a germination of something new, a growth period and a transformation. In this context, the elements begin to resemble an unbroken chain, instead of merely a series of isolated concepts and activities that have no particular bearing on one another. Represented best as a taste, the element of Earth comes across as sweet in nature. That is a little strange when you think about it, because dirt almost never tastes sweet in the slightest. Perhaps land is sweeter in China.

The element of Earth works inside the body to nourish the spleen and the stomach, which are both gatekeepers and protectors of everything else. In this way, perhaps the Chinese were making a statement about the ground acts as a protector of some sort. Many of the meanings behind these elements seem almost arbitrary, as if someone assigned them at random. This may simply be the inexperience that a westerner who has only read a small amount about these elements could have, but it can still be a little confusing. However, what is not confusing is how the transformative nature of Earth unites the growth of fire and the reaping nature of metal.

Earth connects these two forces by uniting the early growth phase of childhood with the ultimate usefulness of young adulthood. In its growing and finally peaking power, the transformation of Earth is something of a metaphor for how the teenager needs to remain respectful of their family origins, despite their natural desire to move off and begin their own family before they are ready to do so. There is a lot to do in the stages between being a child and being an adult, and Earth works well.

Chinese Massage as Traditional Chinese Medicine

Massage is one of the main healing modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Specifically, Tui na massage uses both Chinese martial arts and Taoist principles to help bring harmony and balance to the body.

Tui na has been practiced for over 2000 years and is used in clinics all around the globe. It was first used to treat pediatric diseases which are those health problems that can affect infants, children or teens.

Some of the most common maladies tui na massage can help with are:

• Sports injuries
• Back pain
• Arthritis
• Joint pain
• Wrist or ankle pain
• Stress
• Neck pain
• Headaches including migraines

Most treatments last between 30 to 60 minutes. The massage is firm so some areas of the body may not be used to that kind of pressure.

With this massage technique the practitioner approaches the eight gates of the body which are the areas between each of the joints. The practitioner then kneads, presses, rolls and squeezes each of the areas. The idea is to release the defensive and closed body mechanisms. This allows a flow of energy to pulse through the meridians and the muscles.

(Note: This is similar to the approach used by acupuncturists but instead of needles the healing instruments are the hands of the tui na practitioner.)

Then, the practitioner uses the complete range of traction and massage motion while simultaneously stimulating acupressure points. The idea here is to treat chronic and acute musculoskeletal conditions as well as several non-musculoskeletal ailments.

Being a vital part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, tui na is taught in TCM educational institutions, not only in China but in countries all over the world. The art is also taught in many martial arts schools to advanced students. It is then used to treat and manage injury and pain that may result from the vigorous training given in those schools.

The Pick of the Alternative Health Treatments

Unquantifiable numbers of patients have reaped the benefits of a host of alternatives to standard medicine over recent decades. Still more, with the ease of info dissemination made possible by the Internet, are just embarking on the use of natural products and giving traditional medicines the brush-off.
What follows is just a small sample of the natural remedies attracting attention.
Firstly, lemon balm, grown in many a domestic herb garden, has been found to have beneficial effects for those suffering anxiety, stress and insomnia, for Alzheimer’s sufferers, and, most recently, for diabetics.
The drink comprising stewed mashed up stems and leaves from the Yerba Mate tree (Latin name ‘ilex paraguarensis’) – hugely popular in Argentina – is now thought to have advantages not just in reliving headaches and combating weight gain, but also for the heart.
The colourful algae spirulina could help cure fatty liver disease (of the non alcohol-induced variety). This news emerged recently and is typical of the breakthroughs occurring almost weekly in the field of natural health solutions.
Antioxidants are the crux of many of these naturally-occurring plants and extracts. These combat the effects of free radicals in the body and can be taken in supplement form. However, definitive proof that the supplements are themselves harmless does not yet exist, leaving one to conclude that the safe way to demolish those unwelcome free radicals is to keep on consuming those fruits and vegetables that are high in antioxidants and that include sweet potatoes, spinach, artichoke hearts, and especially beans of virtually all varieties.
Besides self-administration of health-boosting herbs and foods, techniques have grown up too numerous to mention, from aromatherapy to iridology and including Traditional Chinese medicine. Probably best known for some of its more exotic components which include the dried turtle and snake, as well as for belief in the preventive powers of ginseng, Chinese medicine also covers non-invasive treatments such as shiatsu massage as well as the slightly more radical acupuncture. Many beneficiaries extol the virtues of these treatments. Probably the best place for the average Joe to check them out is by surfing for independent blogs.

Holiday Gifts can Promote Health and Wellness

PLEASANT PRAIRIE, WI - NOVEMBER 28: Holiday sh...

Studies suggest the holidays are the worst time of the year for stress, gaining weight and generally letting one’s health slide as parties, drinking and big family meals abound.

With all of the running around shopping, shoveling snow and going to family get-togethers, many forgo their normally healthy routines, sleep fewer hours, and stress about getting the perfect gift. With the added stress, the idea of an e-cigarette can be just too much to bear for someone that alleviates stress through smoking.

If you’re stuck on finding the perfect gift, try finding something within the field of health and wellness.

Have you ever given a gift-certificate for a massage for Christmas? If not, there is nothing more relaxing and rewarding than relieving the stress after the Holidays with an hour-long massage. Massage is a great way to stimulate the body’s natural stress reducers and having one’s body massaged just feels so darn good. It might not come in a perfect package, and it might not have a pretty bow on it, but a massage is a great way to stimulate health and wellness for someone that just endured the Holidays.

Thought about buying someone a membership to a gym for Christmas? National studies suggest the average American puts on between one and five pounds during every Holiday season. Getting someone a gym membership won’t say, ‘you’re so fat you need to go to the gym,’ it will say, ‘I care about you and I want you to be healthy’. An even better idea is to get you and your partner or you and a family member a gym membership together. Nothing promotes healthy gym habits like having a partner to help you stay committed.

Don’t be stuck with lame gift options – promote Health and Wellness this season with the gift that keeps on giving.

Tai Chi and its Many Uses

Associació Catalana de Choy Li Fut, Tai Chi Ch...
Image via Wikipedia

Tai Chi is a very strange set of movements. It forms represent many different types of animals and activities, and even the very nature of describing Tai Chi often falls flat immediately. After all, it is not an overt martial art the way Wing Chun Kung Fu is. And it is not devoted solely to the concentration of the life energy the way Chi Gong is. So what exactly is Tai Chi, anyway? This may actually be a question which can not properly be answered in English, but a reasonable approximation of the truth may do. Tai Chi may actually be considered a hybridization of the combative arts and the arts which are dedicated to the use of life energy for the purpose of healing the self.

After all, there is a balance between having robust health but constantly being harmed by external forces, and being able to outfight a dinosaur while slowly being eaten away from the inside by completely treatable illnesses. Either of these would be a horrific state to live in. Through the use of movements which direct your life force throughout your body and pull life energy out of the environment, Tai Chi seeks to balance the extremes of combat and personal rejuvenation. After all, it is possible to have too much of a good thing, when doing so elicits the sacrifice of the other important things in life.

Perhaps Tai Chi’s most literal translation, “Grand ultimate energy” is accurate in that being properly balanced between the extremes is a grand way to reach your ultimate personal level. Through the harnessing of your personal energy, Tai Chi’s purpose could be said to grow your health through allowing you to defend yourself well enough to live into a time of thought- to meditate even during a fight. If you can actually meditate while someone is trying to kill you, you have already reached a very enviable level of development in your life.

The effectiveness of Chinese medicines

Some elements for Médecine chinoise in Xi'an
Image via Wikipedia

Though Chinese medicines have been used for many centuries now, there is always a controversy over the effectiveness of the Chinese medicine. The Western medicine that is based on various theories and research is well founded. On the other hand, the Chinese medicine is not founded on research, but has been passed from one generation to another.

It has been said that Chinese medicine does not really treat and cure all diseases, but it is able to treat and cure only a few diseases. Evidence based practice is the norm as far as the use of regular medicine is concerned, but Chinese medicine does not really have evidence based practice. Even in the use of Chinese medicine in conditions that are very common, there has only been a moderate effectiveness.

Acupuncture is the most visible and commonly used method of Chinese medicine. Though acupuncture has not been effective in treating diseases like infertility, it has been found in various researches that the use of Chinese medicine like acupuncture along with the regular medications actually improves the effectiveness, though the Chinese medicine alone does not have the desired effect.

All these make one to understand that though the Chinese medicine may not be used all by itself, it is an useful adjunct therapy to the regular treatment. So the treatments like acupuncture can be used along with the regular system of medicine to overcome the diseases.
One important factor that has to be understood is that though people may not be very convinced to use the Chinese medicine system for the treatment of the disease condition that they are suffering from, it is not a dangerous treatment. The Chinese medicine system does not cause any side effects or complications, so even if you have doubts about its efficiency, it can be used safely.
